Find the companies hiring in India
Companies build their largest teams in cities far from headquarters, and a company database organised around HQ misses them. Filter on where the roles are and they show up.
India is the highest-volume hiring market in Canonical's posting data outside the United States, and most of that hiring is done by companies headquartered elsewhere. A search for Indian companies will not find them; a search for companies hiring in India will.
Canonical reads company job boards weekly across roughly 20,000 companies and filters on hiring city, state and country independently of headquarters. City names resolve through a gazetteer, so the spelling you use is the spelling that works.
The problem
Indian city names carry multiple official and historical spellings — Bengaluru and Bangalore, Gurugram and Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bombay — and most databases store exactly one. Searching the wrong one silently returns nothing, which reads as an absence of hiring rather than a spelling mismatch. And a headquarters filter misses every global team hiring into the country.

Search by hiring location and let the gazetteer handle the spelling. Filter to a city such as Bengaluru or Gurugram, a state such as Karnataka or Maharashtra, or the country as a whole, and combine with function and seniority: leadership hiring in Bengaluru, or sales roles in Gurugram. Does Bangalore work, or do I have to type Bengaluru?
Both work. Hiring locations resolve through a geographic gazetteer that knows a place's alternative and historical names, so either spelling reaches the same city.
Will this find global companies hiring in India?
Yes, and that is most of the interesting result. Hiring location is independent of headquarters, so a company based anywhere that has open roles in an Indian city appears in the search.
Can I filter by state instead of city?
Yes. Hiring state is its own filter — Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana — and it is independent of the city filter, so a company hiring in two cities in one state matches either way.
How many companies have hiring data?
Roughly 20,000 across all markets. A company with no posting data is not necessarily not hiring; it may not run a job board Canonical reads.
